WhatsApp Web for small business: 8 reasons to add WA Folders
If you run a small business on WhatsApp Web, WA Folders lets you sort customer chats into folders, see who is still waiting on an answer, and export an order thread to CSV. It is free to try and runs in your browser.
Free plan with no time limit. Pro is a one-time $4.99 payment, no subscription.
1. Keep customer chats apart from family chats
Put customers in a Clients folder and everyone else in Family. One click switches the chat list, so an order question doesn't get lost under group chatter.
2. Total an order thread in Excel
Export the order chat to CSV and open it in Excel or Google Sheets with date, sender and text columns.
3. Folder tabs right above your chat list
Make folders like Family, Work or Clients with your own colours and emoji. They sit as tabs above the WhatsApp Web chat list, with unread, reply and question markers. The free plan has 5 folders.
4. See who is still waiting on a reply
Needs reply, Questions for me and Waiting on them lists show what you owe and who owes you. Set a reminder for 1 day and it clears itself if they answer first.
5. Find the message someone sent months ago
Search chat names (even chats you haven't opened), your private notes and the messages WA Folders has seen. Filter by folder, notes or links. Pro's Load whole chat searches a chat's full history.
6. Export a chat to CSV, HTML, Markdown or JSON
One click on the open chat. CSV opens cleanly in Excel. Free allows 3 exports a day. Pro exports whole chats, whole folders and password-protected files.
7. Private notes on any chat
Write "owes me $40" or "call back Tuesday" on a chat. Notes are saved only on your computer and show up in search.
8. Voice notes to text and translation
Transcribe a voice note with a speech model that runs on your computer by default. Translate Portuguese, English and Spanish with Chrome's built-in translator.
What you can check for yourself
- The Chrome Web Store listing shows the current version (1.3.8, updated October 22, 2026) and the permissions it asks for.
- The only site it asks to run on is web.whatsapp.com. AI and license sites are optional permissions you approve only if you use those features.
- The 33-second demo is a recording of the real extension, using sample chats with made-up names.
- There is no WA Folders account to create, and no WA Folders server that holds your chats.
What makes it different
WhatsApp's own Lists filter chats on your phone and on the web. WA Folders adds things Lists don't: reply tracking, private notes, search across notes, and export to four formats, all on WhatsApp Web in Chrome. See the side-by-side comparison.
Price
Free, with no time limit. Pro is $4.99 once through Polar, our payment provider, and removes the daily limits, adds Load whole chat, whole-folder and password-protected exports, a PIN lock screen and sync between your Chrome browsers. See Pro.
