WA Folders Add to Chrome

Best WhatsApp Web folder extensions (2026)

Disclosure: we make WA Folders. It's one of the six options below, and we've tried to be fair to the others. Every number about another product comes from its own Chrome Web Store listing or website, fetched October 16, 2026.

Listings change. If a listing says something different today, the listing is right and this page is out of date. Corrections: toolshed+wafolders@mail.grokbot.com

Quick picks

  • Pick WhatsApp Lists if you only want to group chats into Work, Family or Clients and see the same groups on your phone. It's built in and free.
  • Pick WA Folders if you're one person on WhatsApp Web who wants folder tabs plus search, export and reply follow-ups, with data kept in your browser and a one-time $4.99 Pro. It's new: 10 users and no ratings yet.
  • Pick WA Web Plus if you want the most-used, long-established WhatsApp Web extension (2 million users, 52.4K ratings), or you sell to customers and need broadcasting, auto replies and scheduled messages. Its paid plans are billed monthly or yearly.
  • Pick Weka if you want custom chat tabs (Leads, Clients and so on), notes, reminders, quick replies and scheduled messages, all free. Its site says every feature is free and paid plans are turned off. You sign in to an account so your tabs and notes sync, which means what you create in Weka is stored with Weka.
  • Pick Cooby if your team runs sales on WhatsApp and HubSpot and wants conversations logged to the CRM.
  • Pick WA Folders Pro if you want a simple folder, notes and privacy-blur tool from a different developer. Its free version includes 3 folders.
  • Skip WAToolkit. It was removed from the Chrome Web Store on February 5, 2025 after malicious updates were reported. If it's still installed, remove it.

Each option, briefly

WA Folders (ours)

Folder tabs above the WhatsApp Web chat list, search across chat names, notes and opened messages, export to HTML, CSV, Markdown or JSON, and "waiting on you" follow-ups. Folders, notes and the search index stay in Chrome on your computer. No account, no WA Folders server, and it never presses Send. Free plan with no time limit; Pro is $4.99 once, with no subscription and no trial. Weak spots: it's new, has no ratings yet, works only on desktop Chrome, and folders don't show on your phone.

WA Folders Pro (different developer)

Despite the similar name, it's a separate product, not ours. Its listing offers folders with drag and drop, private contact notes, quick-reply templates and privacy blur. Free version: 3 folders, 1 note per contact, 3 quick replies and profile-photo blur. Pro unlocks unlimited folders, notes and templates; the listing doesn't state a price. Version 1.0.0, last updated February 2, 2026.

WA Web Plus

Several extensions use the name WA Web Plus; this is the one by Elbruz Technologies (store id ekcgkejcjdcmonfpmnljobemcbpnkamh). By far the most used: 2,000,000 users and a 4.7 rating from 52.4K ratings, with the store's Featured badge. Its listing describes privacy and reliability tools. Its website sells broadcasting, smart auto replies, scheduled messages, contact and group exporting, with a free plan and paid plans at $14.99, $34.99 and $49.99 a month (cheaper yearly). It's aimed at businesses messaging customers.

Weka

A free "CRM for WhatsApp Web" with the store's Featured badge: 589 users and 4.3 from 41 ratings on the Chrome Web Store (its own site says 2,300+ users; we use the store figure). Built-in tabs for Unread, Needs Reply, 1:1s and Groups plus your own custom tabs, private notes, follow-up reminders, quick replies, scheduled messages with attachments, broadcast to a tab, and contact export to CSV. Its site says every feature is free and that earlier paid plans were turned off. It says it never reads, stores or uploads your messages, but what you create (tabs, notes, reminders, quick replies) is stored with Weka so it syncs when you sign in. Version 0.1.0.41, updated October 5, 2026.

Cooby

A team tool built around HubSpot: log WhatsApp conversations to the CRM, edit contacts, and report on activity. The free extension plan includes 3 custom tabs, 3 templates and 10 reminders a month. Team plans start at $15.99 per user per month billed yearly, with a free trial and no card needed.

FAQ

Can I make folders in WhatsApp Web without an extension?

Partly. WhatsApp's built-in Lists let you create custom lists like Work or Family and filter your chats by them, and lists are part of your WhatsApp account. Which lists show on WhatsApp Web depends on your account. If Lists cover what you need, you don't need an extension.

What is the best WhatsApp Web folder extension in 2026?

It depends on the job. For one person who wants folders, search and export with data kept in the browser, WA Folders (our product, $4.99 one-time Pro, free plan with 5 folders). For a large, long-established tool with many ratings, WA Web Plus (2,000,000 users, 4.7 from 52.4K ratings on October 16, 2026), whose paid plans focus on broadcasting and automation. For a free tabs-and-reminders tool that syncs through an account, Weka. For teams on HubSpot, Cooby.

Is there a completely free WhatsApp Web folder extension?

Yes. WhatsApp's built-in Lists are free. Among extensions, Weka says all its features are free (custom tabs, notes, reminders, quick replies, scheduled messages) and needs a sign-in to sync. WA Folders has a free plan with no time limit and 5 folders, with a one-time $4.99 Pro for more.

Is WA Folders the same as WA Folders Pro?

No. WA Folders Pro is a separate extension from a different developer. WA Folders (store id hahfpdlfieloofgjhanljbbnakinfhil) is the one made by us; its paid tier is simply called Pro. The two are not affiliated.

Is WAToolkit still available?

No. WAToolkit was removed from the Chrome Web Store on February 5, 2025 and was reported among extensions compromised by malicious updates. If you still have it installed, remove it.

How much does WA Folders cost?

The free plan has no time limit: 5 folders, 5 search results per search, 3 exports a day, 5 voice-note transcriptions and 20 translations a day, plus small allowances for reminders, quick replies and auto-file rules. Pro is a one-time $4.99 payment with no subscription. There is no free trial of Pro.

Do these extensions send my WhatsApp messages anywhere?

Check each listing's privacy section. WA Folders keeps folders, notes and its search index in Chrome on your computer, has no account or server of its own, and never presses Send. Cooby's main features sync messages to a CRM, which by design sends data to Cooby and HubSpot.
