WA Folders Add to Chrome

WA Folders compared with WhatsApp Lists and other WhatsApp Web extensions

We make WA Folders, so read this with that in mind. Everything said here about another product comes from that product's own public page: its Chrome Web Store listing, or WhatsApp's Help Center for Lists. Each claim has the date we checked and a link, so you can see the source yourself.

Checked on October 8, 2026. Listings change; if one of these says something different today, the listing is right and this page is out of date. Corrections: ckamelhar@gmail.com.

WhatsApp's built-in Lists

Start here. If Lists do what you need, you don't need an extension.

WhatsApp's Help Center describes Lists as customizable filters that can help you keep your chats organized. There are four default lists (All, Unread, Favorites and Groups), and you can create custom lists, add or remove chats, rename, reorder and delete them. A separate Help Center page explains how to mute every chat in a list.

Those Help Center steps are written for the phone apps. On WhatsApp Web, which lists you can see and create depends on your account. On the account we test with, the filter row above the chats included All, Unread, Favorites and Groups on October 8, 2026.

When Lists are enough

  • You want to put chats into groups like Work, Family or Clients, and that's all.
  • You want the same grouping on your phone. Lists are part of WhatsApp. WA Folders' folders live in one Chrome profile on one computer and never show on the phone.
  • You'd rather not install an extension that can read WhatsApp Web. That's a fair choice for any extension, ours included.

What WA Folders adds on top of Lists

  • Waiting on them and Questions for me: one-to-one chats where you spoke last and heard nothing back, and chats whose last message asks you something.
  • A reminder that clears itself when the person replies ("Remind me if they don't reply in 1 day").
  • Private notes on a chat, and search across chat names, your notes and messages WA Folders has seen.
  • Export of the open chat to HTML, CSV, Markdown or JSON.
  • Voice notes to text and message translation (Portuguese, English, Spanish), run on your computer by default.

WA Folders works alongside Lists. It doesn't change or read your Lists.

Other WhatsApp Web extensions

We picked four well-known extensions that do different jobs. For each one we only repeat what its own Chrome Web Store listing says. We haven't tested their features ourselves.

WA Web Plus by Elbruz Technologies

Its listing describes it in one line:

Add more tools and options for WhatsApp Web for more privacy and reliability.

The listing text says nothing more specific about features, so we won't either. If privacy tools for WhatsApp Web are what you want, read its listing and screenshots directly. WA Folders also has a privacy blur and a hide-everything key, but they are one part of it, not the main job.

Cooby

Its listing says it is best suited for teams that use individual WhatsApp numbers and HubSpot. Features it lists include:

  • Syncing WhatsApp conversations to HubSpot CRM, and CRM contact cards inside WhatsApp.
  • System tabs that auto-update, including Unread, Needs Reply, Groups and Awaiting Reply, plus custom tabs.
  • Notes and reminders on chats, and Google Calendar events.
  • Broadcasting to multiple chats at once, message templates, and contact import and export.

Its privacy pledge says: We do not collect your chat data. Your chat data will never leave your computer.

Compared with WA Folders: Cooby's Needs Reply and Awaiting Reply tabs cover a similar job to our Questions for me and Waiting on them. If you work in a team on HubSpot, or you need broadcasts, Cooby's listing covers that and WA Folders doesn't. WA Folders has no CRM sync and never sends messages.

WAPlus CRM

Features its listing names include:

  • Conversation management that automatically sorts chats into labels such as unread, waiting for a reply, require my response and @mentions.
  • An AI chatbot for auto-replies, trained on your material or keyword rules.
  • Contact cards, conversation sharing, and message translation.
  • HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho integration, multiple WhatsApp accounts, and team features such as shared progress, conversation backup to a team space, and a dashboard.

Compared with WA Folders: WAPlus CRM's automatic labels overlap with our follow-up lists. If you want auto-replies, multiple accounts or a team CRM, its listing covers that and WA Folders doesn't. WA Folders has no auto-reply, no team space and no account.

WA Web Sender

This is a different kind of tool. Its listing describes sending bulk WhatsApp messages, with features including:

  • Bulk messages with personalized placeholders, and CSV upload of numbers and message data.
  • Attachments, scheduling and batching intervals.
  • Export of group contacts and delivery reports.
  • Quick replies and a WhatsApp chat link for your website.

Compared with WA Folders: WA Folders does not do bulk sending. It never sends any message for you, doesn't schedule messages and doesn't export contacts. If you need outbound campaigns, WA Folders is the wrong tool.

At a glance

"Listed" means the product's own page names the feature. "Not listed" means we didn't find it on that page, not that the product lacks it.

Who WA Folders is for

One person on WhatsApp Web who wants to see who they owe a reply and who owes them one, read voice notes as text, and keep notes, folders and exports in their own browser. There's no account and no WA Folders server, and it never presses Send. The free plan includes 5 folders, 5 search results per search, 3 exports a day, 5 voice-note transcriptions a day and 20 translations a day. Pro removes those limits.
